Auto Trader, the UK and Ireland’s largest digital automotive marketplace, has launched its Market Report – September ’16.
Auto Trader produces a review of the UK new and used car market biannually. We are delighted to have been involved in this production of this edition, working with Auto Trader to analyse the car buying and selling behaviour of over 3,000 motorists across the UK and look forward to continuing this partnership ahead of the launch of Auto Trader’s February ‘17 report.
Auto Trader’s Market Report – September ‘16 has a particular focus on trust and transparency and makes for fascinating reading. Here are three must-read stats on the state of trust and transparency in the UK automotive market from the report:
- Only 7% of UK consumers said they trust used car dealerships
- When consumers were asked to rate 13 industries, car dealerships ranked lowest for trust, below property, finance and OEMs, which rated as the fourth most trusted of all the 13 industries.
- Over three quarters of car buyers (76%) said transparent pricing of cars is most important to them in the car buying process. Car testimonials and reviews also rated highly, with 61% citing them as one of the most important factors in this process.
